PALM HARBOR, Fla. — Paul Casey grew to become the primary back-to-back winner of the Valspar Championship on Sunday by closing with a 1-over 72 for a 1-shot victory over Jason Kokrak and Louis Oosthuizen.
Casey thought his largest problem could be Dustin Johnson, who was one shot behind. As an alternative, the world’s No. 1 participant didn’t make a birdie for the primary time in 31 tournaments worldwide.
The true problem was Innisbrook, so robust that nobody shot higher than 68 within the ultimate spherical.
Kokrak (71) and Oosthuizen (69) every had a share of the lead on the again 9. Kokrak missed an Eight-foot par putt on the ultimate gap. Casey was in a fairway bunker on No. 18 when he hit to simply over 20 ft and two-putted for the win.
